Patrick Jhanur, who grew up in Brisbane, isn’t exactly a newcomer to the acting scene – he’s been treading the boards since primary school.

“My first acting came along when I was 10 years old and living in Singapore,” says the 24-year-old, who has Indonesian and Australian parents.

“I was the lead in a children’s show after being scouted in a play. This was a life-changing experience.  Working full-time on set and being in the public eye for a pretty intense six-month period of my life – it was a wild adventure!”

In 2007, he appeared in Season 2 of Navy drama Sea Patrol, before taking part in a string of well-received plays.

In 2018, he appeared in Riot, and last year starred in ABC’s comedy series Diary of an Uber. Driver.

Jhanur currently has a number of projects in the works. “And prior to the lockdown, I was lucky to squeeze in a raucous, high energy play called Australian Open at the Kings Cross Theatre in Sydney,” he says.

“Next year, I’m heading to Brisbane for a play. It’s under wraps at the moment but I’m really looking forward to spending some time back home.”
