Gal Gadot never intended to become a movie star

Gal Gadot didn’t plan to become an actress.

The Hollywood star is now one of the most bankable actresses in the movie industry, but Gal didn’t always dream of becoming a film icon.

She explained: “I went to law school and while studying still did some modelling. A casting director came from London to Israel looking for a ‘Bond’ girl, saw my card on the agency board and wanted to see me.

“That was my first experience in the acting world, and I sort of fell in love with it. One thing led to another and here I am.”

Gal is reprising her most iconic role to date in ‘Wonder Woman 1984’, the sequel to 2017’s ‘Wonder Woman’.

The 35-year-old actress played the titular role in the Patty Jenkins-directed project, and she was overwhelmed by the positive reaction to the movie.

She told ‘The Graham Norton Show’: “It was everything we hoped for and more.

“Patty, the director, and I felt we were doing something special, but it was a first for both of us to do something so big and who knew if it would transcend all our intentions and that people would get it.

“We were super humbled and grateful for the way the movie was received. It was just a delight to come back and work with Patty again.”

Meanwhile, Gal recently insisted that being famous for no reason is “nonsense”.

The actress – who has daughters Alma, nine, and three-year-old Maya with husband Yaron Varsano – thinks that hard work is the secret to real success.

She said: “You gotta do something real, that will fill you and will make you feel valuable and will keep your mind and your brain stimulated. There’s no secrets. The secret is that there’s no secrets.

“In order to do something great, you really have to work hard for it.”
