Britney Spears' dad insists he isn't stopping her from having a baby

Britney Spears’ father has insisted he isn’t the one stopping her from having a baby.

The 39-year-old singer recently said in court during her conservatorship hearing that she wants to tie the knot and have more children, but claimed her conservators – including her father Jamie Spears – are preventing her from doing so after they made her have an IUD fitted.

And now, Jamie’s lawyers have claimed he does not have anything to do with Britney’s medical care, as that rests with Jodi Montgomery, who was appointed as co-conservator in 2019 and currently monitors the singer’s personal life.

Jamie’s legal team told The Blast: “Mr. Spears does not speak or meet with Ms. Spears’ medical team, and he is not permitted to nor does he have the opportunity to provide any input into his daughter’s current medical treatment, diagnosis, or therapy. Nor does Mr. Spears participate in or discuss Ms. Spears’ personal affairs with her, such as issues related to her self-care, marriage, and reproductive desires.

“These are issues under the purview of Ms. Montgomery as Ms. Spears’ conservator of the person, and issues that Ms. Spears presumably discusses with her court-appointed attorney, Mr. Ingham. Mr. Spears is simply not involved in any decisions related to Ms. Spears’ personal care or medical or reproductive issues.”

Although he is not Britney’s personal conservator, Jamie is in charge of the ‘Toxic’ singer’s financial affairs and is very much involved in her day-to-day life because of the nature of the decisions he has to make.

A source recently said: “Even though Jamie is in charge of her finances, he still has to approve everything because everything is related to finances at the end of the day.

“If she wants to go to Hawaii, he has to approve that, because it costs money. If she wants to take her friends to dinner, he has to approve that, because it costs money. Jamie has the right to say no to certain things.”

During her court hearing – which was held in a bid to end the conservatorship she has been under since 2008 – Britney claimed she was unable to have children with her boyfriend because of decisions made by her conservators.

She said: “I would like to progressively move forward, and I want to have the real deal. I want to be able to get married and have a baby. I have an [IUD] inside of myself so I don’t get pregnant. They don’t want me to have children – any more children.”

The singer is already mother to 15-year-old Sean Preston and 14-year-old Jayden, whom she has with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
