Channel 7 has released a new extended promo providing fans a first look at the upcoming 50th anniversary special for Hey Hey It’s Saturday.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the launch of Australia’s longest-running and most-loved variety/comedy show, Hey Hey It’s 50 Years will be hosted by Daryl Somers and will feature some of the favourite characters from Hey Hey.
This special television event will put the spotlight on the very best of the madness and mayhem that kept people laughing throughout the show’s remarkable run.
The special was recorded recently in Melbourne and included in-studio appearances by Wilbur Wilde, John Blackman and Brian Nankervis. Its understood a number of other program regulars appeared via zoom links.
The special is expected to air in October.
Somers used the programs Facebook page to thank supporters for the “huge response” to the request for suggestions of favourite memories from the show.
“You covered so many aspects of the programme it’s hard to compress the highlights of 30 years into one show.
Even though we’ve only scratched the surface there’s something for everyone in our Seven Network special, “Hey Hey It’s 50 Years” that will happen in a few weeks.”
