Chris Pratt and Anna Faris Call it Quits after 8 Years of Marriage

It’s a sad evening in Hollywood.

Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt and Mom actress Anna Faris have announced their legal separation after eight years of marriage.

The unexpected message was shared via Faris’ Instagram.

“We are sad to announce we are legally separating,” Faris wrote. “We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still love each other and will always cherish our time together.”

Pratt, 38, went on to share the same message via Facebook and Twitter.

The couple share four-year-old son, Jack, and have been married since the summer of 2009.

The split comes as a shock to those who follow the former couple, who showed no sign of marital struggles prior to Sunday’s news.

Pratt has previously sung Faris’ praises both as a person and a mother.

“Anna and I are meant to be together,” he wrote during one 2015 Reddit AMA. “Our relationship has made me believe in divine intervention and destiny.”
